Does Dentistry from the Heart offer financial assistance to those needing dental care?

No, we do not. The way our program works is we partner with dentists to host free dental events at their offices.

What do I need to do to qualify to be seen at a Dentistry from the Heart event?

You just need to show up at the event nearest you!  There are no income requirements.

Are children able to be seen at a Dentistry from the Heart event?

No.  Dentistry from the Heart events are for those 18 and up only.  Please visit https://www.mouthhealthy.org/en/dental-care-concerns/paying-for-dental-care/child-care to find resources for free or reduced-cost dental care for your child.

How can I make an appointment for a Dentistry from the Heart event?

We do not take appointments. People are seen on a first-come, first served basis.  It is recommended that you arrive early.

Is Dentistry from the Heart a free dental clinic that is open every day?

Unfortunately, no.  We partner with dentists to host free dental events at their offices.

What if there isn’t a Dentistry from the Heart event in my city?

You can contact the Dental Association in your state, they should be able to provide you with information on free or low-cost clinics in your area.

I am in pain, and there isn’t an event coming up. What should I do?

If you are in a lot of pain, you may want to consider visiting your local emergency room or urgent care clinic.  Otherwise, you can contact your local health department to see if they offer any dental services.  Another option is to contact the Dental Association in your state. They should be able to provide you with information on low-cost or free clinics in your area.

Do you have any tips for attending a Dentistry from the Heart event?

Yes, we do!  We recommend that you arrive early.  You may be waiting outside until you are seen by the doctor; we recommend that you dress comfortably for the weather at your event, bring a chair, water, snacks and something to help pass the time.
